On 17 June 2022, the 7th International Puppy Football Tournament took place in Weißwasser. Twenty-four nursery teams from Germany, Poland and Ukraine competed for the cup of the Lord Mayor of Weißwasser. The winner of the competition was the team from the kindergarten "St. Johannes" from Weisswasser, Germany.

The aim of the tournament is to encourage the four to six year olds to have fun in the tournament and, above all, to enjoy outdoor activities. SZM supports the kindergarten children's football tournament by providing the girls and boys from the Muskauer "Bergpiraten" kindergarten for instance with jerseys and balls. In addition, SZM’s Managing Director Maik Domel is the newly elected chairman of VfB Weißwasser 1909, which organizes the tournament and hosts it for the city of Weißwasser.

The Puppy Daycare Football Tournament has been around since 2013, when only ten teams played. In 2017, they even dared to attempt a world record - with 400 children from 38 daycare centres from Saxony, Brandenburg and Poland. In the last two years, the annual tournament did not take place because of Covid19.

Now in its 7th edition, 300 children in 24 teams from Saxony, Brandenburg (both Germany) and Poland played a total of 84 matches in six relays.
