Middle East Energy 2026 came to a close in Dubai on 3 September. SZM was among the exhibitors at the international trade fair for the energy industry. Together with its partner MasterGrid, the company showcased two circuit-breaker trucks featuring retrofit solutions for medium-voltage switchgear in Hall 2, Stand G30.

The two exhibits demonstrated how existing switchgear can be modernised by replacing conventional circuit breakers with state-of-the-art vacuum circuit breakers.

• The first exhibit was an SZM retrofit solution for a Concordia Sprecher MGH 10L-25. The existing circuit breaker was replaced with an SZM solution equipped with a Siemens vacuum circuit breaker.
• The second exhibit was designed for a Concordia Sprecher HPtw low-oil circuit breaker. This solution uses an SZM retrofit kit with an ABB VD4new vacuum circuit breaker.

Both solutions demonstrate how existing switchgear can be upgraded with modern vacuum technology without replacing the entire installation. By retaining the existing infrastructure, operators can modernise their switchgear in a targeted and efficient way. 

SZM presented the solutions together with its partner MasterGrid, headquartered in Grenoble, France. MasterGrid specialises in the maintenance and equipment of critical electrical infrastructure in the high-voltage sector. The two companies cooperate, among other areas, on the modernisation of existing switchgear. 

For SZM, Middle East Energy provided an opportunity to showcase its retrofit expertise to an international audience and to connect with customers and partners from the energy industry.
